080512 - This is Sharky, my 7 month old Pit Bull mix. So far Sharky has proven to be my favorite dog in the world but he needs some good training, so we'll be starting in Debee's Beginner Class on July 1st. He knows the basic commands like sit, down, jump, etc. but I would definitely love to get him a little more under my command before he takes the big leap to adulthood as a male un-neutered dog. He's a lover bun and loves to play with dogs. Can't wait to get involved with your group! [John]
080506 - This goofy 'teenager' is SunRunner Jaker Sweet Dude, aka "Dude". He is a 11-month old Dalmatian, and will be taking the ABC Class in July with his sister, Star. When he meets someone new, he is more likely to kiss them to death than to be unfriendly. I've known about the SCDTC for years and have taken my Dals to your conformation classes many times. Lately we have been training (the Beginning classes) with Town & Country DTC, but now it's time to move on. I'm looking forward to your classes in July.

I'm attaching 2 of my favorites…one when Dude was about 5 mos. old and got stuck between the cushions on the couch (seeing the picture, you can just imagine a cartoon bubble over his head with his comments on the situation). The other is a recent head study of our handsome Dude. Enjoy! [Karen]
080506 - This 11-month old Dalmatian is SunRunner Leading Lady, aka "Star". She is starting in the July ABC Class (a.k.a. Advanced Beginner & CGC Prep Class.) Star has a 'kisses for everyone' and a 'can I climb in your lap please' personality. She is a 'Party Girl'…although she wasn't thrilled with the barking Mastiff that was behind us at our last conformation class. She kept looking at him, then me, as though to say, "Mom, that's a REALLY big dog with a REALLY big bark…do something!".

I'm attaching 2 of my favorite pics … one when Star was practicing her "Sit/Stays", and the other of her very cute face. Enjoy! [Karen]

080501 - This is Sydney. She is 4 months old and is an Australian cattle dog mix. We will be taking the Beginner Class that starts July 1st. [Michelle] 080501 - Here are Bailey and PJ, both are Yorkshire Terriers. Bailey is 3 years old (probably the world's largest Yorkie). We went through a Puppy Class two years ago (elsewhere) where Bailey learned how to sit, lie down, shake and high five. He is a very friendly dog, but lately has has become barkey -- at people, when I go away, if he can't play with other dogs, etc.

We got PJ last summer as a puppy. he is now 1 year old and is very friendly and outgoing and loves everybody. Both dogs will be starting in (separate) Beginner Classes with Debee in July. I'm looking forward to starting classes, and to getting some one-on-one time with each of them that I think has been missing. [Astra, www.astraontheweb.com]

080416 - This is Gordo, my 6 year old Long Haired Dachshund / Papillon mix (this is a guess, by the way). He excelled at beginner obedience and is now taking Advanced Beginner & CGC Prep (ABC Class), is very attentive to me and quite mellow (rarely ever barks), but is unpredictable with other people, especially men and any feet that get too close to him. We’re working on that! [Lara] 080425 - This is Ceilidh, our Bearded Collie. She is 3 1/2 years old and clearly knows how to have a good time. She will be starting in our Advanced Rally Class shortly. [Jack]

080414 - This is Copper Charm, my 4-year old Beagle. He has taken Novice and Intermediate classes and now he is going to do the Advanced Beginner and CGC Prep Class, starting April 29th, to prepare for and take the CGC test.[Joanne] 080414 - This is Little Joe, my 1-year old Beagle (2). She is a little shy, and will be starting the Beginner Class on April 29th. She will be the third of my dogs that I have taken through your training. [Joanne]

080324 - Treu is a 15 month old German Shepherd who has been exposed to personal training, but not group training. He currently thinks that every time he sees another dog, it's play time. We're taking the Advanced Beginner Class in order to help him transfer his obedience skills to social settings as well. He's definitely a guard dog - he's a people-dog when on his walks, but alerts his mom & dad to strangers at the door. He loves Amalia, his 7 month old "little sister." We're excited about the class. [Liz] 080326 - Here are Lucy and Sammie, all ready to start in the Beginner Class on 4/29/08. Lucy is our 5 year old Shepherd / Rott mix -- she is the cautious one. Sammie is our 5 month old Chocolate Lab. [Erin]

080309 - This is Max, our 1.5 year old Yorkie / Chihuahua, and Mocha's (below right) brother. We took the Beginner Class last year and we will be taking the Advanced Beginner and CGC Prep class that starts April 29th. Max is shy, especially if the person approaches quickly. He is small so people often want to pet him. He loves other dogs. [Megan] 080320 - Hello, I just adopted Marlow from a shelter and everyone thinks he’s part lab. However, I was looking through this gallery and I found a puppy (071027, Mindy), who is a Schipperke/Terrier mix that looks just like my Marlow. Looking at Mindy is like looking right at my Marlow! I'd love to know what breeds Marlow is a mixture of, so I can better understand his natural tendencies. If anyone has any ideas, click here. Thanks in advance for your time! [Kelli]
080303 - Here is Irish Lace ("Lacey"), our 11 month old Bichon Frise. She and I will be starting Confirmation 101 Class tomorrow night. Lacey is anything but shy! She loves all people and other dogs. She has just begun to show in the ring and has several shows in front of her this spring. Lacey is a delightful little girl. I heard about you from our long-time groomer, Mark Collins of Grooming Extraordinaire. [Bill] 080309 - This is Mocha, our 2.5 year old Yorkie, and Max's (above left) sister. We took the Beginner Class last year and we will be taking the Advanced Beginner & CGC Prep Class that starts next month. Mocha is very submissive but not shy at all, in fact she's outgoing -- not easily frightened and not unfriendly to anyone. [Jenny]
080226 - On the left is Hudson, who is just a little over a year old. He's a Jack Russell Terrier / Toy Fox Terrier mix. We're registering for the March 4 - April 22nd Beginner class with Debee Cox

Hudson is a very good natured dog, but as I'm finding out, we need to learn better ways to channel all his energy. He's very smart and understands very well, but sometimes it's a matter of whether he wants to actually follow through. I also believe the rescue group I got him from may have given him to me too early because his social skills are a bit off. He does bark a lot at friends I bring home if he hasn't met them before, and he's very "in your face" friendly with other dogs, which works well with some, but not others.

I love him to death and he's a wonderful dog, but I feel that with training we can develop his potential and also get him to be more comfortable with meeting new people and other dogs. My friend Virginia told me about her good experience at SCDTC with her dogs there and suggested that it would be a great help for myself and Hudson. [Morgan]
080227 -- In the center and on the right is Max, our Bichon Frise, who is almost 4 months old and will be starting Beginner Class on April 29th

Max is simply a wonderful dog. He comes from champion bloodlines, although we do not wish to show him, he is our companion. We just adopted him last week. [John]

080220 - This is Bandit, a 5-month old Shih Tzu who'll be starting in Beginner Class on March 4. He is friendly and loves kids, but is shy towards other dogs. I heard about the SCDTC from Lisa, who is Dundee's mom. [Betty] 080221 - This is Tex, our Pug. He will be 4-months old when we start Puppy Class on March 11th. Tex is friendly although he is hesitant for the first few minutes in new situations. He's not been around other dogs yet since he hasn't had all his
shots yet. I found the SCDTC through the AKC website. [Jean]
080219 - Kona is 7 months old and he is shown here after hiking to Coyote Peak. Kona has attended a puppy class but needs to work on "off" "stay" and leash training.
He likes to go on long walks and loves to play with other dogs at the community dog park. He has a step brother (Tahoe a 13 year old rescue shepard mix) who
looks out for him and likes to play with Kona to some extend. Kona also has 2 cats at home and he is working on not to chase them and scare the daylights out
of them. Kona will be starting the Beginning Class on March 4. and hopefully advancing on from there. If things work out we're interested in having Kona become a Therapy Dog. Kona learns fast but his trainer / owner needs work on providing lessons. :) I found SCDTC from a Google search. [James]
080220 - This is Courtney, our 8-month old Doberman. We will both be taking Debee's Beginner Class that starts March 4th. We're looking forward to lot's of fun :-) [Melinda]
080214 - This is Sophie, our 2-year old Yellow Lab. Sophie and I are looking forward to the next Advanced Beginner and CGC Training Class -- we are preparing for a TDI Test. Sophie just recently graduated from the PetSmart Intermediate Pet training program. We heard about the SCDTC from Dick Simmons. [Melanie] 080215 - This is Vago, our new Mini Pinscher / Terrier mix. He is about 1 1/2 years old, but we just rescued him about 2 months ago. We've enrolled in the beginners class that starts March 4. We heard about the SCDTC from another dog parent at Watson Dog Park. [Beatrice]
080211 - Here is Mia, who will be starting in the next Puppy Class. Mia is a Coton de Tulear, 18 weeks old. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to be petted by other people. Our objective is to have a puppy that grows to have manners and continues to be friendly toward people and other animals. We found you via Google. [Bryce] 080212 - This is Delilah, she is a 4 months old Yellow Lab, and ready to start the beginners class on March 4. She is a wonderful puppy, friendly and loves children. We would love to see her learn how not to be so excited when she is walking or meeting other people. She likes to jump up and lick their face. We are looking forward to the classes next months (Delilah is commuting to here all the way from Los Banos). [Lisa]
080209 - This is Romeo, our 4 month old Newfoundland. We will be starting Beginner Class on March 4th. He is a very friendly dog, as you might imagine, not shy or easily frightened. Our breeder told me about the SCDTC. [Marie]

080202 - This is Quint, my 14-week old German Shepherd puppy. We will be taking the Puppy Class that starts on March 11th

Quint is a very easy going puppy -- he wants to please and is a very quick learner. I went to several classes many years ago at the SCDTC. [Valene]

080203 - This is Bo, my 5-month old German Shepherd (more info), who'll be starting Beginner Class on March 4th. He gets anxious around other dogs (a little barking and his hair stands up), but after he has smelled them, then he's OK. He is nice toward people in public, but at home, he barks when other people come in.

I heard about the SCDTC through the German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California -- they recommended you highly. I rescued Bo through them 3 weeks ago. He is a very large, sweet boy. He gets along great with my other dogs but we are having a hard time getting him to accept the Cat. We don't know everything about his past but so far he has been a wonderful dog! We do need training immediately though. (I need training probably more that Bo does). [Nancy]       [P.S. check our Rescue Page - webmaster]
080116 - This is Gatsby, enjoying a day at the beach. He is a Miniature Schnauzer, 5-months old now, who wants to start in Emily Barton's Advanced Novice class, beginning April 29th. Gatsby is not shy, and likes people and other dogs. [Enrique and Elini] 080130 This is Fiona, my cute Cairn (etc). Since we have a trial coming up on February 16th, we will be doing drop in Advanced Novice classes (dates) to be best prepared. [Katrina]
080113 - This is Kiko, who is signing up for the next Puppy Class, starting March 11. She is a 9-week old Akita. We've only had her for one week and she has not been around other dogs yet. [Joanne] 080115 - This is Marty, our 7-month old Cocker Spaniel. He will be taking the next Beginner Class (starting March 4th). Marty is very friendly.  When he was a puppy he was socialized at Downtown dog daycare and then when he got all his shots, we go to the dog park two times a week. We heard about you from the AKC Club list. [Kaman]

080103 - Above is Ivy, our 13 week old Yellow Lab. We will be starting Puppy Class on the 15th. We would like to go on and get the Canine Good Citizen certification for her, and if she (and I) are suited for it, hopefully train/certify her for visiting hospitals (click1, click2, click3). [Carol]

080104 - On the right is Kona, our 6 month old Vizsla. We would like to get on the Standby List for the Beginning Class starting Jan 8th. Kona is shy at first but loosens up very quickly. He is a sweetheart and gets along with people and other dogs well. [Ryan]

071227 - This is Salma, our 1 1/2 year old Maltese. She and I will be starting Beginner Class on January 8th. When Salma meets a new dog or person, she will first bark and then either be very friendly or frightened based on how they react to her barking. If a person approaches she will either back off or cuddle with them. I heard about the SCDTC by googling doggy classes. [Rigoberto] 071229 - This is Lucky, our 1 year 9 month old Pekingese. He is very smart and very lovable with a great disposition and personality, but he doesn't like other dogs or strangers much. We will be taking the Beginner Class starting January 8th. [Vicki]
071225 - this is Maggie-Drawers (also). She is 6 months old now, is friendly and likes people and other dogs. We are looking forward to starting the Beginner Class on January 8th. [Stephen] 071226 - This is Cody, our new Kerry Blue Terrier puppy. He will be 4 months old when he starts Puppy Class on January 15th. So far, he's been in our home and yard with no walks, as we're waiting for his final set of shots (click2). [Arien]

071211 - Last Tuesday, a few of the dogs got together after class to sit around and reminisce, and to wish you happy holidays

Click here to see a full size picture. [Beth]

071211 - This is Gypsy, my Border Collie, and me, racing each other through the course at the 2007 USDAA Agility Trial in Sunnyvale. We both love this.. [Andrea]

071108 - This is Domino, our Catahoula Leopard Dog. We adopted Domino from the SPCA when he was approximately 8 months old. Now he is almost a year old and he has adapted well to his new surroundings. Domino is friendly towards people and dogs but still a little intimidated by both.  He knows some basic commands, has pretty good manners, and learns very quickly (but sometimes forgets).  If there is a lot of excitement around, all commands go out the window.  We also think Domino might enjoy agility and other sporting events and we have to start somewhere. We are looking forward to the Beginner Class  in January.  [Sarah] 071129 - This is Killer and he is almost 16 weeks old. He is a Yorkie-poo (2, 3), he likes people, is very playful and is not afraid of other dogs. He is so much fun, but we're starting Puppy Class in January because he needs to start learning better behavior and we need to learn how to teach him correctly. [Julie]
071102 - "A halloween scare! Ok. I was scared. I admit it. It was no fun. There was this thing called a Santa Ana wind, and it brought orange skies, fire, ash and hot hot weather. My dads and I were evacuated into a hotel, and we didn't know if our house was going to be there when we got back. It was scary. I threw up. My dads took this picture to show how scary it was. My dads tell me we're very lucky that we only had to clean up ash... did I say I was scared and threw up? When we got back home we did have some fun with the 2 pugs visiting and playing while the humans did stuff around the house to amuse themselves. They made cookies for themselves, but do you think they could make a dog a cookie? No!" [Zach]

[NOTE: Zach is a PWD who formerly trained with SCDTC (see pics on 060515). He now lives down south, right where the big California fires were! Zach has his very own BLOG.  -- webmaster]

071107 – this is my dog Bella, an English Springer Spaniel, as she  received her CD at Vallejo on Nov 4th 2007. When I started attending classes 4 1/2 years ago I would have never imagined I would be showing her in Obedience.  I am enjoying the process and can see how rewarding and addicting dog training is. [Vikki]
071027 - I just rescued a Mindy 4 wks ago, and she is 4 1/2 months old. I think her birthday is June 15th. She is a Schipperke/Terrier mix. 4 1/2 months, female. She is good with all dogs, big or small, and is not shy. She loves to play, nips a little but knows when to back off (sometimes).

My other dog is a small Terrier mix 6 1/2 yrs old. I want to be able to have control over Mindy. It is hard with 2 dogs. And I know I have a lot of work to do. I heard about the SCDTC from a vet technician and also from a friend -- they both had good things to say. Mindy and I are both looking forward to starting class. [Tara]
071030 - Kaycee is a 4 months old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I'm signing up for Beginner Class because I'm too late for the Puppy Class. Kaycee is a great dog. She loves people and other dogs but maybe too much. She wants to meet everyone and likes to jump up on them (which not everyone likes). She's very curious and courageous. She already knows how to sit but that's about it. [Chelsea]

071023 - And now, the rest of the story. I knew that Reilly had some problems early on, so I asked Mardi if she was willing to share some of her experiences with Reilly and H.O.D. This is her reply. [webmaster]

Unfortunately, Reilly was diagnosed with H.O.D. (Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy) when he was 18 weeks old (on 8/26/07, four weeks after we got him). We immediately had to begin a period of treatment and confinement during which he was not allowed to be out of his crate and/or exercise pen except to pee and poop. We were able to spend much time in "gentle play" with him, but he couldn't interact with any other dogs during this time, and only saw the members of the household and immediate family and any friends who came to the house.

We didn't know much about the disease when we got him, except that it affects Setters (and other large breeds) and there were some things that we should (and did) do in hopes of avoiding the disease -- e.g. delaying neutering and delaying rabies vaccine until he was 6 months old.

The first three weeks after we got him, he was a "normal puppy" and we had begun some basic obedience training, but by three weeks, he had begun to show some symptoms and we had to cut back on his activity accordingly. I should also say that we got him from a reputable breeder. Once he was diagnosed with H.O.D., we were guided in the treatment phase by helpful Setter owners, breeders and by our vet -- we followed a treatment protocol from Drs. Gary Brown and Roy Pool, and although it seemed to be effective, it was not particularly easy, especially at the beginning trying to to figure out how Reilly could be kept comfortable AND confined AND yet have ready access to a potty place (diarrhea is a problem!). Later on, when he was feeling better, it was difficult to keep ahead of him as he tried to outfox us and escape from his enclosure!

Reilly has now completed the 6-week treatment period, and we finally have begun to take him out on walks, and to play ball in the backyard (again), and (now) to join a Beginner Obedience Class. However, because of the extended period during a time when I think he should have been really experiencing "the world", he is now somewhat wary of new things/ people/ etc, so we're looking forward to starting class. Lastly, I would be remiss to say that Reilly is VERY smart. It was a constant challenge, during his illness once he was feeling better, to keep ahead of his figuring out new ways to escape from his exercise pen! [Mardi]
071019 Here is another picture of Reilly (the other picture is just below). [Mardi]
071008 - This is Bella my Blue Great Dane. She will be 5-months old when she starts in the Beginner Class later on this month. [Rebecca]

071019 This is Reilly, he is an Irish Setter and is almost 6 months old. We will be starting the Beginner Class on October 23rd. In the last couple of weeks, I have been working with him again on some basic commands ("come", "sit", "lie", and "down"), and we have been working on our walks on walking "easy".... I'm pretty certain he remembers some of this training from before, but now the adolescent behavior is kicking in, and he doesn't always WANT to!! We're both looking forward to beginning the class! [Mardi]
070929 - On the left is Boomer, our 4 year-old Golden Retriever, and on the right is Rowdy, our new 7 month-old Boxer Mix. Both Boomer and Rowdy are very friendly. Boomer loves every dog, where as Rowdy likes other dogs as long as they don't try to establish dominance. Boomer has done Beg, Adv, Intermediate and Rally through Town and Country, but we signed up for the Advanced Beginner and CGC Prep Class because I would like him to take the CGC Test and pursue the TDI Therapy Dog International Test as well.

Eventually I would like Rowdy to accomplish the same. Rowdy was my foster puppy, I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. He was adopted about a month ago for three weeks and then returned, so now he is staying for good. We signed up for the Beginner Class and I would like to focus on enhancing our trust and bond more than it is already to reassure him that he is staying for good, and to make him a happier, more obedient puppy. [Sandra]

070923 - This is "Lucy", she is a Great Dane mix (or not, we aren't sure). She is about 3 months old (we have to guess at her age because we got Lucy from the SPCA). We're enrolling in the Puppy Class that begins on Oct 30. I wish we would have found your website sooner (We found it through a friend). Lucy is a curious puppy who is not easily frightened and is quite friendly toward other dogs, cats and hamsters. She loves to meet new people and is wonderful with our boys (ages 3 and 6) and she is also a great snuggler. We'd like some help teaching Lucy not to jump up to the table/counter -- her head will soon be at counter and table height, so we need to nip this in the bud. [Joy]
070919 - Here is Max, my 1 yr old Golden Retriever, doing his most favorite thing - swimming! You can see the pleasure in his face as he brings his trophy (a nice stick) ashore. We'll be starting both the Conformation 101 Class with Dick Symons, and the Advanced Beginner plus CGC Prep (ABC Class) with Debee Cox in October. Max has done both obedience and agility training in Michigan (we just moved here 1 month ago) and we're both looking forward to getting back to class, to work on our heeling, and to work towards competition and getting some titles. [Amanda]

070828 - This is Lytton, our 6 month old Labrador. He is ready to start school tonight (in the ABC Class). Lytton loves other dogs but is somewhat passive. He is not unfriendly towards anyone, really, he does not have a mean bone in his beautiful body. I heard about you through my friend, Iveta, who has a wonderful Chocolate Lab named Bono. We're looking forward to meeting everyone tonight! [Tami]  070908 - Here are two [cell phone] pictures of my puppy Piston. We are
registering for the Puppy Class starting October 30. Piston is a Rat Terrier
and is 9 weeks old now. I learned about your organization through the yahoo
search engine. [Pauli]
070825 - This is Hamlet, our 7 month old Pug. Hamlet is a very stubborn little pug. He learned how to "sit" and "shake" when he was a baby, but that's as far as we've gotten on our own. We're signing up for the Beginner Dog Obedience Class to get some help with the rest. We heard about your classes through my mother, who completed three levels of your classes with Scooter, their Yellow Lab. [Stefanie] 070827 - This is Jimmy, also known as Black Velvet Latitudes. He is a 7 months old Australian Shepherd
who will be starting in the Advanced Beginners Class August 28th (tomorrow). Jimmy is very dog
friendly but a little reserved around people (he lives for me and only me – typical Aussie). He has
not been formally trained, but is reliable on sit, down, stay, and heel, so I figured Advanced
Beginner would work better. I was referred to you by several people. [Christine]
070820 - This is Dakota, our Yellow Lab/Chow mix. She will be 13 weeks old when she begins the Puppy Class on September 4th. [Jarret]

070821 - Here is a photo of our princess, an English Bulldog named Gabriella (we call her Gabbi for short). She is 2 years old. We are hoping with this Beginners Class she will learn to socialize better with other dogs. She's an only child and when she's around other dogs or people she gets overly excited and tends to charge at them, or with smaller dogs, she tends to try and play rough. [Vikki and Rebecca]
070814 - This is Coco, my 3 1/2 month old Chihuahua. Coco is a really sweet, little, sun-worshipping dog. His best friend is my 2 year-old tom cat. He definitely likes to do the usual puppy things like grab our slippers and run, but is slowly learning to play with his own things (which are all over the place). We signed up for the Sept 4th Puppy Class because he has only been around a few dogs (as was recommended by our vet. until he is fully vaccinated) and I really want to socialize him so that he can start going all over the place with us and be comfortable around other dogs, and he has shown some undesirable behaviors that I want to nip in the bud now. I hope I can learn some things in this class to help him be the companion we are looking for. [Glynis]  070818 - Here is my little boy Copper Charm. He has been through 3 training classes. He passes two classes and repeated one He is a rescue from New Orleans and had a lot to learn. thank you for your wonderful trainers. [Johanna]

070806 - Here are some updated pictures (click here for the previous pics) of Scottie & Luna. Scottie, on the left, is a Brindle Boxer, and Luna is a Fawn Boxer. These are their professional shots for their modeling contracts. :) They both are in Advanced Obedience. Scottie is currently showing confirmation in AKC, UKC & IABCA. He is also showing obedience in AKC and has one leg so far. We are getting ready to compete with Luna in obedience. [Jennifer]

070806 - Here is 19 month old Apache Tears, our lovely Great Dane girl with some of her best friends – our Jersey Wooly show rabbit babies.  Her job is to guard them and the does a nice job of it.  Obedience training with SCDTC has helped us get through puppyhood smoothly as well as given me insight on how to teach her guardian duties.  Socially, taking classes has been beneficial.  Apache has ample opportunity to be around many other dogs and made fast friends with Xena (Rottweiller) who is the same age as she is.  Apache loves her new obedience skills so much that she will often not eat unless I give her several commands to obey first!  We will be attending Advanced Novice soon and look forward to even more challenging classes with SCDTC in the future. [Amber]

070805 - Here  is Sofie, our 6-month old Wire-Haired Fox Terrier. She will be in the Beginners Class starting August 28th. [Mark]

070730 - Here is a picture of my puppy, Blanko, at 4 months (he will be a year next month). I am interested in enrolling him in the Beginner Class that will be coming up on August 28th, and I was wondering if I could attend one of the Beginner Classes going on right now to get an idea of what I can expect. [webmaster: yes, of course!] [Jeanette]

070731 - This is Ethan, my 22 month old Australian Shepherd. Ethan and I are interested in the Conformation 101 Class coming up. Ethan is VERY outgoing towards dogs and people and can be easily distracted. He is my first "show" dog.

I was surfing the internet to find out more about conformation classes and that's how I came across your website. We have attended a few conformation classes in San Mateo (we live in San Francisco), but I found those classes to be a bit overcrowded. [Christine]
070703 - This is Spike, a male Daschund mix. When I adopted Spike from a shelter, two months ago, he was very very scared of everything and very quiet. He is much better now. He is very friendly, but sometimes he barks at strangers and at other dogs (he doesn't seem to like big dogs.) I have a 18 month old godson and he loves Spike. I take Spike to him very often, but lately Spike seems to become kind of protective of me when my godson jumps on me - he doesn't bite, but he bumps into my godson. Spike is my buddy. :-)

This picture of him is from when he was 6 months old. He is little bigger now. We're looking forward to the Beginner Class that we'll be starting August 28th. [Patricia]

070606 - Hello! I have enjoyed my Puppy and Beginner Classes so much that I am back! I said goodbye to all my misbehaviors in my Puppy Class, I am sure my mom is pleased! Well, I am always happy to please her, it's so much fun and on top of it I get a treat very often too! I will start Advanced Beginner and CGC Prep Class on June 19th. I think I need to brush up on my walk and stop sniffing all the time on everything! Also I am hopping that my mom will bring me few minutes earlier each time that I get to play little bit too. I know this is not a puppy social, but hey, I am just 6-months old and lab!  [BONO Crème de Cacao]

070523 - Above is K-9 "Marco", a German Shepherd, who works as a police dog for the San Jose Police Department. The SCDTC recently provided Marco with a bullet proof vest, for when he is on duty. Marco was featured at a recent   K9 Demo that we hosted! [Beth] 070601 - NEW: Our News Page has a write-up and pictures. [webmaster]

070531 - On the right is Maia, a German Shepherd, with our son Angelo. Maia JUST turned 5 months old (she was born Jan 1st). She LOVES to run, LOVES to play tug, LOVES to chase Kongs and will be starting our Beginners Class on June 19th.

Maia is very friendly after she warms up to you. She has a lot of energy and has an ENORMOUS ball drive and thinks that anyone playing with a ball of ANY sort is playing with her (this can be very challenging if we have her at a park).. We have taught her to Sit, Stay and Come but this only works when she wants it to. We would like to get a grip on her obedience before its too late.... And before she gets much bigger!!  :)   [Troy]
070516 - I have just enrolled Miller, my 15 week old Labrador Retriever,  in the Beginners Class that starts on June 19th. He is very friendly towards people as well as other dogs. He is a bit scared at first when he meets a group of dogs but after a short while he starts playing with them.

He likes to exercise his puppy teeth on my and my roommates hands at times.. I would like to learn how to get him to stop this, and to get him to understand when he nips too hard. I heard of the classes from the akc.org website when i was looking for classes near where I live.  [José]

070519 - This is my dog, Diego. He is a Cane Corso [also click here, and here], and is  9 ½ months old. We are going to try out the drop-in Conformation Class on Tuesday the 22nd. Diego is frightened of tiny dogs that are aggressive or dogs that lunge at him.  He’s afraid of the dark and being left alone.  [Alisia]

070501 - On the left: My dog's name is Montana and he is a German Short Hair Pointer. We will be taking him home on May 7th when he is 8 weeks old.  We just signed up for your next round of Beginner Class training. I felt that the June Class would be good for him because he will be done with all of his shots and he will be over 3 months old. [Meghan]

070503 - On the right: This is my favorite picture of our sweetie, named Winfrey (after Oprah), who is a Cairn Terrier. I discovered your site after someone sent me an email with a link to the list of not-recalled pet foods on your News Page. Winfrey was glad to see that her food and treats are ok.    [Pamela]

070423 - On the left is Xena.  She's 18 months old [Rottweiler] and has been attending SCDTC classes since she was 5 months old.  She's now in Lora Cox's Advanced Novice class.  She's gotten her CGC and TDI, and does therapy work with kids with autism.  We hope to start working on getting her CD soon. [Alex]

070423 - Follow-up on Xena: Wow...you're quick! Alex, who is Xena's owner/handler, age 15, was thrilled to see her pic on the web.  He really loves being a part of things at SCDTC. Thanks. [Lori]

070501 - On the right is Cookie, our 12 week-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We signed up for Puppy Class on May 8th after hearing about the SCDTC on the Internet. Cookie loves to run to strangers and will chew on anything, like on my shoes, slippers, pants, anything that looks chewable. She knows what NO means. [Hannah]

070421 - This isn't exactly a "dog picture", but the viewers of this page might be interested in this perspective anyway. This picture shows who visited this webpage (the SCDTC Gallery Page) in the last hour today (April 21st, between 8:00am and 9:00am) -- note that 9:00am Saturday morning in California corresponds to 5:00pm in the afternoon in London and 10:30pm in the evening in New Delhi.. I don't know why the program that created this map didn't plot 7 of this morning's visitors (my apologies to them -- 4 from Canada, 2 from Sweden and 1 from Brazil).  [webmaster]

070419 On the bottom is Farley, my 15 months old Boston Terrier. Farley is currently in Beginners Class. He tends to be a bit unfriendly towards other dogs but is generally sweet natured but very very very (did I say very) excitable. Here's a picture of both Farley and Sophie (my little female) for your gallery. [Linda]   [P.S. I googled 'Farley and Sophie' and found this video of the two of them. - webmaster]

070419 That's too cool that you found their little video too...it was actually shown on the Ellen DeGeneres show a few weeks back.  My little stars! [Linda]

070419 This is Dallas, our 6 months old Boxer, with Kayla, our 2 year old female Boxer. Dallas will be starting in Beginner Class on May 1st, and I hope to show him in conformation eventually. He gets along with other dogs, but is a little shy when first meeting anyone so I want to socialize him and teach him manners. Last year I took a few conformation classes with my female. From the picture, you can see how much Dallas and Kayla love each other. [Kathy]

070417 - This cute Havanese puppy is called Poochie Poo. In this picture he is 6 weeks old. He will be in the next Puppy Class starting May 8th. He is a cute lil’ guy with typical puppy behavior. [Jasmine]   070417 - Here is Cujo, my 18 mo old Shih-tzu. He's insane, but very loveable. He loves to play with a volleyball and miniature tennis balls. He's in puppy classes. He's very stubborn, but he is learning... finally.   .;-)     [Rebecca]

070410 - This is Chloe, our Yellow Lab. She is 4 years old and is starting in the May 1st Beginner Class. She isn't shy, but doesn't like boy dogs to pester her too much. [Amy] [P.S. the picture on the right is a blow-up of the picture on the left, that was submitted - webmaster] 070410 - Here is Trista, a Standard Longhair Dachshund. She is 1.5 years old and already a champion show dog. She is friendly with most dogs and people, but very stubborn [especially when you try to switch the channel from Animal Planet to the News, or take away her remote? - webmaster]. She'll be in  Beginner Class starting May 1st. [Maggie]

070402 - On the left is my English Pointer, named Kipling. He is enrolled in the Advanced Novice class at SCDTC. [Beth] 070405 - In the center and on the right is Chewy [click here to see the webmaster's wife's guess at to where this name came from], our new Goldendoodle puppy. He will be 19 weeks old when he starts in the May 8th Puppy Class. Chewy has a sweet temperament, is well socialized and inquisitive and alert. I think he will take very well to training. We are both so excited to start!!! Thanks. [Tanja]

070406 - I LOVE IT!  That's so great seeing his picture on the web.  Now  can show him off and people can click on the Goldendoodle link to learn more about dudes...  Thanks again. [Tanja]

070326 - Here is a picture of my boy, Capone (a.k.a. Cappy). He is a 20 month old Black Lab (with a little Rottweiler mixed in) who will be starting in the Beginner Class on May 1st.  Cappy is your typical Lab --very loving, playful, with endless energy. He wants constant attention, but has no attention span of his own! He is far more likely to lick you to death than to ever bite you. [Caroline] 070402 - This is Ed, a 10 year-old Portuguese Water Dog (click2), who received his CGC via the SCDTC and is actively involved in Furry Friends. He came here from Ohio, is (extremely) food-motivated, loves fun, and likes to be near his family. Click here1 and here2 and here3 for earlier pictures. [dave]

070315 - On the left is Riley, my 5 months old Norfolk Terrier, who will be starting Beginner Class on May 1st. Riley is friendly and enjoys people. He has been living with his mother and sister so he is used to other dogs. I heard about you from our Breeder. His sister Maddie is registering in the class as well, we thought it would be fun to have them there together. [Joanne]

070323 - On the right is Cookie, my 3 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that will be in the next Puppy Class, starting May 8th. He is a very friendly puppy toward everyone, and is very smart. [Dao]
