For more than 70 years, Santa Clara Dog Training Club (SCDTC) has been dedicated to helping people build better relationships with their dogs through education, training, and community. Founded in 1954, we are a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization and proud American Kennel Club (AKC) member club committed to promoting responsible dog ownership, good sportsmanship, and fellowship among dog enthusiasts.

Whether you're a first-time dog owner, an experienced competitor, or simply someone who enjoys working with dogs, you'll find a welcoming community at SCDTC.

What We Do

Throughout the year, SCDTC offers a variety of activities that benefit both our members and the community, including:

  • Pet dog & Sporting dog training classes for all experience levels

  • Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and AKC title testing

  • Therapy dog preparation classes

  • Fun matches and practice events

  • Community education and dog demonstrations

  • Special events and educational programs

Our goal is to help dogs become confident, well-mannered companions while supporting handlers who enjoy training, competing, and learning together.
